I decided to make this cuz of the many questions about this sort of stuff...
Q: What are EV's???
A: EV's stand for Effort Values... When you kill a pokemon and gain experience, the pokemon gaining experience gain EV's in a specific stat depending on the pokemon (when you beat a Gyarados, the pokemon who get experience from it get two EV's in Attack)... Also, Vitamins give 10 EV's depending on which stat it's meant to raise.. You can only use ten of one kind of a vitamin on one pokemon (very recommended to do this before EV training)... You can only get 255 EV's on one stat and 510 EV's on all the Stats total...
Q: Why do you need to raise EV's???
A: You don't have to... but it can give a huge bonus to a stat that your pokemon needs (like Garchomp's Attack and Speed)... But it's highly recommended to only give 252 EV's to maximize 2 stats and then another six to another stat (for one bonus point: could save your life)...
Q: Why only 252 EV's and not 255???
A: 4 EV's=1 stat point (do the math)..
Q: What do IV's stand for???
A: IV's stand for Individual Value and it is a hidden bonus that is given to all pokemon... It can be passed down by breeding and there can be a maximum of 31 on each stat...
Q: What is Pokerus???
A: Pokerus is basically what makes pokemon much more easier to EV train... It raises EV growthx2 when you beat the pokemon... this is usually calculated last... so if you had a macho brace (which also gives x2 growth for every time you beat a pokemon... you can get a 4x increase)... THERE IS NOTHING BAD ABOUT POKERUS!!!!!!!!! You have to let it spread to your other pokemon by walking and stuff...
Q: What are power items and where do you get them???
A: Power items increase the amount of EV's you get from killing a pokemon by 4... (so if you kill a Gyarados you get 6 EV's instead of 2)... You get them by earning 16 BP (for each item: takes 96 to get them all) at the Battle Tower...
Power Bracer: +4 on Attack
Power Weight: +4 on HP
Power Lens: +4 on Special Attack
Power Band: +4 on Special Defense
Power Anklet: +4 on Speed
Power Belt: +4 on Defense

A: Use Marilland's team builder, and then figure the strategy out with good movesets to go with it... (make sure to have physical and special sweepers, walls, annoyers and support)
